Orana provides emergency and short-term accommodation to homeless and at-risk young people both male and female aged between 14 and 18 years. It operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Each resident is given a set of goals, with staff providing the necessary assistance and support to meet these. Six young people are accommodated at any one time with a maximum stay of 3 months, at the end of which most people will either be reunited with their families or have found more suitable permanent accommodation.

Funding for this program is received through the Department of Communities but there is a shortfall. Some of this shortfall is covered by our Sponsor a Bed Program.
All it costs is $1.50 a day, $42 a month or $500 per year to sponsor a bed at Orana.
